A pre-war design for a steel house. While a steel house may seem unusual, following WWII about 2,500 steel Lustron Homes were built to help alleviate a housing shortage. Owners of the homes enjoyed their durability and easy maintenance. 1939. Invented by Beaulard J. Compton.
